In March of 2007, Mark began his mission to help people save their lives by teaching nutrition and leading a 12-Week Transformation small group at the Church at Chapel Hill in Douglasville, Georgia. This small group quickly became a favorite, and he continuously facilitated and expanded the material over the following several years.
In December of 2009, his journey further unfolded as he became a nationally certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise. He was now incorporating his systems to “Power UP” people outside his church to look and feel great too!
Mark believes that too many people can avoid death and diseases related to their poor choices. He learned that many genuinely did not understand how to improve their choices. They have been confused by misinformation and or became tired of wasting their time.
A lot of what Mark does is education. Whether it’s exercise-related or nutrition, his goal is to provide unbiased facts to help clients make informed choices. He believes the more a person understands “why,” the more likely they will utilize ‘the information’ and continue applying it for lasting success.
Powered UP Systems has a mission much more significant than fitness, pounds, and inches. Mark desires to live a purpose-driven life and strives for this with his clients as well. Powered UP Systems is also so much more than a place to work out or get a meal plan. It is a family – a group of individuals on a joint path of ever-improving health and fitness. They like to celebrate WINS involving pounds, inches, and repetitions too!
Mark desires his members to feel they are an active part of a community and enjoys seeing lifelong friendships formed. Most of all, Powered UP Systems members should develop a vision of who they are and want to become. I know with the support of this fitness family and his leadership, anything can happen.
